The city of Osogbo was yesterday agog as the ancient city witnessed the grand opening of the Constituency Relations Office of Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency. The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has appealed to the Federal Government to assist the state in combating flood disaster. He made the appeal, today, in response to the flood disaster that affected some areas in Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu Local Governments. Some houses and shops in Osogbo, Ilobu and Ifon-Osun were ravaged by flood following the downpour that ran through last week till date. He described the challenge of flooding as enormous, saying the Federal Government’s support is needed in finding a lasting solution to the disaster.
