The Lawmaker representing Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo federal Constituency, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has asked Nigerians to obey all directives and precautions issued by the authorities on coronavirus. Since the December outbreak in Wuhan, China, the new coronavirus has spread rapidly, with more than 294,000 confirmed cases in 186 countries, including Nigeria, as of mid March. The lawmaker in a statement issued by his media office, urged all persons including religious gathering to observe all the necessary precautions against the pandemic, and to follow the guidelines for combating the disease. The city of Osogbo was yesterday agog as the ancient city witnessed the grand opening of the Constituency Relations Office of Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency. The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Water Resources, Hon. Olubukola Oyewo has appealed to the Federal Government to assist the state in combating flood disaster. He made the appeal, today, in response to the flood disaster that affected some areas in Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu Local Governments. Some houses and shops in Osogbo, Ilobu and Ifon-Osun were ravaged by flood following the downpour that ran through last week till date. He described the challenge of flooding as enormous, saying the Federal Government’s support is needed in finding a lasting solution to the disaster.
